So who exactly am I? Well, starting off, I am a student at Miami University. No, not that one, the one in Oxford, Ohio. I am currently working towards a Computer Science Major, and have also just recently been approved for a Games + Simulation Minor. Yay me! Through my exploration of Computer Science, I discovered HTML (and CSS) and thought it would be nice to make myself a fun little website, which you are on now. I've also begun to learn Java, which is a whole lot more difficult. Admittedly I should probably practice it more, but I have no idea how to actually implement it into anything. I think I might make a Minecraft mod eventually, since it's coded in Java.
Speaking of Minecraft, I very much dream about being a game designer. That's the whole reason I started to learn to code in the first place. As with many others trying to get into the field, I am a gamer myself. I would want to make something that's not only fun for me, but for others as well. As you might have seen already, I am a bit of an artist, which is also where a good portion of my game design dream comes from. My knack for world building and character design would be a great fit for a video game. I've been trying to improve my art skills on and off for the past few years, primarly through digital art.
Despite being somewhat outdated, I have to give it credit for
getting me into the flow of drawing digitally.
It helped me understand things like layering, shading, color choices,
and a little bit of perspective. The shadings not the best here,
but I've gotten way better in my newer drawings.
This is actually a remake of an older piece I made based on
the same sketch. I decided to change it since the colors
were awful, and it also looked pixelated.
Both the sketch and the original are below for reference.

Strangely enough, programming and drawing are suprisingly similar. Both allow you to create something out of nothing. I thought that would make me equally good at both, but I clearly have a bit more experience (and fun) in the art department. I'm hoping College will eventually get me to the point where coding is less frustrating and more rewarding, as right now it is very much frustrating and stressful. I'm not going to quit though, as it's a much more reliable skill when it comes to getting a job.
Besides drawing and coding, I also enjoy editing videos. Back in high school, I took a few classes learning a good portion of the Adobe Creative Cloud, primarily Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop. Unfortunately I lost access to the Creative Cloud when I graduated, and I'm certainly not forking over up to $60 a month just to continue using these programs. I instead moved to DaVinci Resolve, a free video software similar to Premiere and After Effects (which I highly reccomend!). I've mainly stuck to smaller videos recently, but I would like to return to longer form videos once I find the time.
As mentioned on my home page, here's my YouTube channel.
Even though I'm not the most talented in the world (and no one is), I'm hoping this website still showcases the passion I have for the things I do.
